Matcha Design Produces Acceptance.org’s Video For SXSW

Matcha Design is excited to announce their first video animation for Acceptance.org, promoting its grassroots movement for acceptance and equality. The video will premiere at this weekend's South By Southwest (SXSW) festival, during the R2R Live streaming event hosted by Sean "Diddy" Combs. We wrote the script, and designed and produced the entire video animation.

Script

Writing a one-minute script that captured the emotional complexity of the acceptance.org mission was the first challenge. The term 'acceptance' can mean many things, to different people; however, it is universal thread that runs through every human being. We researched and formed powerful statements, highlighting the rejection an individual experiences when they do not receive acceptance in their life. Each statement was conceptualized alongside our production team to ensure the visual impact was strong enough to capture a live audience's attention, and swelled to a climax when music was added.

Design and Production

After the script was approved by Acceptance.org, we moved into the a deeper storyboarding phase. Creative Director, Chris Lo, worked fervently to make sure the visual plan was in place before stepping into the production bay. A working draft was created for exploring thousands of music options and timing the script perfectly. Chris used color tones to represent the emotions behind each heavy subject, and the carefully crafted images and animations produced influential storytelling.

Rollout

Not only is the video being featured at the special SXSW live event Saturday, but it can also be seen on the acceptance.org website and on their Facebook and Twitter pages this weekend. We branded both accounts with consistent imaging, as increased traffic to their online channels is expected, surrounding the buzz of the event. The video went through some small tweaks at the end of the week to ensure the overall messaging was ready for maximum viewing, and we worked alongside a promotional team on the ground in Austin, to release the final video.

In the end, the video animation project was challenging, with complex messaging and an extremely tight deadline of one business week, but the team effort at Matcha Design and Acceptance.org pulled it through. We are excited to see where Acceptance.org shows up next!
